This week, members of the Platial Analysis Lab were at conferences around the world, presenting research and connecting with the international research community.

Dr. Dan Qiang and PhD Candidate Daniel Romm travelled to Toulouse, France, for the World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR). Dr. Qiang presented our work titled “How events move us: Estimating the causal effects of special events on shared micromobility using Double Machine Learning.” Daniel Romm presented our work “Free rides, freedom: Findings from the City of Grand Rapids’ free fare pilot program for low-income shared micromobility riders.”  Both had a great time in Toulouse, networking with colleagues and learning about the current state of the art in transportation research.

Meanwhile, Prof. McKenzie attended the 6th International Time Geography Conference in Toronto, where he participated in a panel discussion. The conference was also a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues and friends in the time geography community.

Congratulations to everyone on a busy and productive week!
