We are excited to have two members of the Platial Lab community attend and present their research at the upcoming Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe Conference 2025, taking place June 10–13 in Dresden, Germany.
PhD candidate Dan Qiang will present her full paper titled “Mobility Vitality in Active and Micro-Mobility Modes: Measuring Urban Vitality Through Spatiotemporal Similarity.” Dan’s work contributes to a growing body of research that uses mobility data to better understand urban life, particularly through the lens of micromobility and vitality metrics.
Former lab member Dr. Hongyu Zhang, now a Faculty Lecturer at UMass Amherst, will present his short paper “Evaluating Spatial Dependency in Regional Similarities of the Population Dynamics Foundation Model.” Hongyu’s work continues to push the boundaries of spatial modeling and foundational geospatial AI.
Congratulations to both Dan and Hongyu on having their work accepted at AGILE 2025! We wish you the best of luck and safe travels as you share your research with the spatial data science community.
