Lauren Cater is a PhD student in the Department of Geography at McGill. Her research interests are focused at the intersection of place, mobility and health. She is interested in how, why and where people move within and between places, the physical and social networks that are created by and facilitate this movement, and how mobility and networks can provide insight into the character and resilience of a given place and the health of its inhabitants.
Prior to coming to McGill, she studied History (BA: American University, DC), Global Studies (MA: London School of Economics/University of Leipzig), and Geography (MA: George Washington University).
